Goldman’s role in the Coterra-Devon merger is a boon for its investment banking business, which accounted for 15% of overall revenue last year. GS 1Y mountain Goldman Sachs 1 year After Goldman’s noisy earnings report last month, CEO David Solomon said that “M & A transactions often kick off a flywheel of activity across our entire franchise.” The continued deal news further validates our initial thesis on the stock, which has gained 7.6% year to date, compared to the S & P 500 ‘s 1.5% increase.
