For two decades, the Mises Institute has produced and published thousands of videos that have brought the insights of Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, and the tradition they inspired to millions of people all around the world.
Since our beginning in 1982, we’ve hosted seminars and conferences featuring the world’s leading scholars in Austrian economics, libertarian political theory, and revisionist history. But early on, the only way to benefit from these valuable lectures was to be physically present.
On February 22, 2006, the Mises Institute created its YouTube channel, Mises Media. Ever since then, we’ve made the insights and wisdom shared by virtually every speaker at nearly every Mises event available online for free to anyone who wants to listen. That was 20 years ago.
Since 2006, we’ve posted over 3,000 videos on YouTube and received over 35 million views. Some of the most popular videos include lectures by Tom Woods and Robert Malone that told the truth about the government’s covid response when so few were willing to; a short video by Connor O’Keeffe explaining the real purpose of the federal government’s Real ID program; an archived talk by World War II veteran Eugene Sledge—who was portrayed in the hit HBO series The Pacific—about the costs of war; and a presentation by USS Liberty survivor Phil Tourney about the attack he and his shipmates sustained and that the US government is still trying to sweep under the rug fifty years later.
Mises Media is also home to two Institute-produced documentaries on the Federal Reserve. We brought together some of the brightest economic minds to cut past Keynesian and Chicago School euphemisms and explain what the Federal Reserve actually is and how it’s really affecting our lives. Each film has been viewed over a million times, waking many up to the central banking racket at the heart of our economy.
These are important truths that the regime doesn’t want people to hear, but Mises Media has steadfastly sounded the alarm—even during periods of increased digital surveillance, even when YouTube gave us a strike for spreading “misinformation.” Donate today to celebrate our anniversary and our commitment to voicing the truth when others won’t.

In these shows, Mises Institute scholars and editors help translate some of the more rigorous parts of Austrian and libertarian theory for lay audiences and use the insights of Austrian economics to help viewers understand what’s unfolding in the world.
Another popular addition in recent years has been our Beginners series. These short animated videos introduce viewers to topics like money, American history, economic calculation, and more early in their intellectual journeys without sacrificing the nuance those subjects deserve.
