Jackson Financial Inc. surged 6.8% Friday to $118.30 after two major Wall Street firms raised their price targets, signaling growing confidence in the life insurer’s prospects. The stock’s rally came on volume of 440,843 shares as Jefferies and Barclays both lifted their outlook on the $8.4 billion insurance company.

Jefferies led the bullish call, boosting its price target from $120 to $140 while maintaining a Buy rating. Barclays followed with its own upgrade, raising its target from $136 to $139 with an Overweight rating. The twin endorsements represent an average target increase of 9.0%, with the new average target of $140 implying further upside from current levels. The coordinated analyst support suggests improving fundamentals across Jackson Financial’s life insurance operations.

The dual upgrades reflect mounting optimism about the company’s positioning within the Financial Services sector. With both firms raising targets by substantial margins, the move signals potential catalysts beyond typical quarterly performance. Life insurers have faced a complex environment navigating interest rate dynamics and demographic shifts, making the coordinated analyst support particularly noteworthy for Jackson Financial.

Friday’s 6.8% gain represents meaningful momentum for shares that have attracted fresh attention from the analyst community. The stock’s performance on elevated volume suggests institutional investors are taking note of the improved outlook. With Jefferies’ new $140 target representing one of the more aggressive calls on the stock, the question becomes whether Jackson Financial can deliver results that justify the upgraded expectations from two respected voices on Wall Street.

What to Watch: Investors should monitor whether additional analysts follow Jefferies and Barclays in raising their outlook, and whether Jackson Financial provides any business updates or commentary that validate the more bullish stance. The company’s next earnings report will be critical in determining if operational performance supports the upgraded price targets.

We’re taught that failure is the price of ambition, but psychologists studying explanatory style found that what happens after a setback depends partly on the story a person tells themselves about it: those who see failure as permanent and personal are more likely to become helpless, while those who treat it as temporary and specific are more likely to keep going.
