Another Boeing (NYSE:BA) aircraft was hit with turbulence in the span of one week, this time a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin, Ireland on Sunday.
Twelve people were injured on the plane – a Boeing (BA) 787 Dreamliner – including passengers and crew. The injuries were minor, according to Qatar Airways.
The plane landed safely at Dublin Airport Sunday afternoon, and emergency services attended to the injured people.
The carrier experienced turbulence over Turkey. “The matter is now subject to an internal investigation,” Qatar Airways said in a statement.
The incident comes nearly a week after severe turbulence hit a Singapore Airlines Boeing (BA) plane, causing the death of a British man and injuring more than 100 passengers.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Sunday said climate change is one of the reasons behind increasing flight turbulence. “The reality is, the effects of climate change are already upon us in terms of our transportation,” he told CBS, adding that turbulence will continue to “affect American travelers, whether here or abroad.”
