Warner Bros. Discovery’s (NASDAQ:WBD) head of corporate communications, Nathaniel Brown, is leaving the company after nearly two years on the job.
Brown’s resignation was announced by Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) CEO David Zaslav in a memo to staff viewed by Variety. Zaslav called Brown a “tireless and formidable advocate for the company,” and that Brown played a “critical role in positioning Discovery to acquire WarnerMedia.”
Brown joined Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) in April 2019 from 21st Century Fox (DIS). He was promoted to Chief Corporate Communications Officer in April 2022 after serving as Head of Global Communications for 3 years.
In this position, he was tasked with global communications for the company and its global business segments including Warner Bros’ motion picture, animation, TV, HBO, CNN, and Eurosport divisions.
A source cited by Variety claims the decision to leave was mutual between Brown and Zaslav, and that Brown has no plans for his next position.
A replacement has not been named and a search will likely focus on candidates from outside the business. Until then, Laura Watson, head of executive communications, and Katie Martin Kelley, head of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group communications will assume Brown’s responsibilities on an interim basis.
