If you are looking to improve your financial life or just to enjoy a light beach-read you won’t want to miss this list.
4 books to add to your summer reading list
Never Split the Difference is written by Chris Voss, a high-stakes negotiator with the FBI. This is a page-turning read that is packed with its own high-stakes negotiating. The strategies in the book apply to both business and home life. Our biggest takeaway was to slow down and consider. He said that deadlines are the boogeymen of negotiating. Check it out to learn why no deal is better than a bad deal.
The Gap and the Gain by Benjamin Hardy and Dan Sullivan is a bit of positive psychology. Our takeaway was about how we measure ourselves. Most people measure themselves against what they don’t have (their goals, what others have, etc) which leads to stress and discontent. However, if you measure yourself against how far you have come you’ll see the gains you’ve made and it will inspire you to keep moving forward.
Simple Wealth, Inevitable Wealth by Nick Murray is a supreme confidence builder in your ability to build wealth. He makes strong arguments backed by evidence to why having faith, discipline, and patience with your investment strategy should be your only path. The fundamental principles of investing don’t change. Rather than trying to predict outcomes, plan instead.
Hello, Molly by Molly Shannon is a celebrity memoir filled with tragedy and comedy. It’s an excellent book to listen to since it is written by Molly Shannon and she keeps up the excitement. This book will make you laugh and cry and is told with passion and heart. It will also make you think about the way people think about money.
We hope that you enjoy some of the books on this year’s list. What have you been reading? Email us and let us know!
