The U.S. Department of Justice on Tuesday said Boeing (NYSE:BA) violated a legal settlement concerning the role of its employees in two deadly plane crashes. The claim exposes the plane maker to possible criminal charges.
Boeing (BA) in January 2021 said two employees misled federal authorities about the 737 MAX jet, and was granted corporate probation to avert prosecution.
The claim comes several months after a new Boeing (BA) 737 MAX lost a door panel shortly after takeoff, forcing an emergency landing. The plane was the same model involved in the earlier crashes.
Boeing (BA) in April told the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration that workers may have falsified records on the 787 Dreamliner jets.
