AT&T is raising a monthly administrative fee on phone bills next month.

Starting Aug. 5, the telecommunications company is raising the monthly cost of its Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee by $1, according to the AT&T Mobility Fee Schedule on the AT&T website.

The fee helps AT&T recover expenses such as interconnection charges with other providers and certain government fees, like Wireless Tower Mandates Costs, State Consumer Privacy Laws, Public Rights-of-Way Acquisition Costs and Federal Privacy-Related Mandate Costs, the website outlines.

USA TODAY reached out to AT&T for comment about the fee increase on July 14.

Are you an AT&T customer? Here’s what to know about the fee increase.

What Fee Is AT&T Increasing?

AT&T is raising the monthly recurring cost of its Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee, which affects personal users, according to the Mobility Fee Schedule.

The telecommunications company is also raising its business, government and non-consumer administration fees, according to the AT&T website.

How Much Is AT&T’s Fee Increasing?

AT&T’s Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee is increasing from $3.99 per month to $4.99 per month, according to the Mobility Fee Schedule.

The Administrative Fee for business, government and non-consumer customers is increasing from $2.49 per month to $3.49 per month, the AT&T website states.

When Will the AT&T Fee Increase?

Both fees increase on Aug. 5, according to the Mobility Fee Schedule.
